Overview
An ancient structure dating back to the Trần dynasty, ranked as a provincial heritage site in Lệ Chi village.
Lệ Chi Heritage Complex stands in the centre of Lệ Chi village, Phù Đổng commune. According to legend it was first built under the Trần dynasty to worship Quan Âm (Avalokiteśvara).
Despite several restorations, the site keeps its traditional layout and many finely carved wooden details.
It is listed as a provincial heritage site.
History and legend
Surviving records date the heritage complex to around 1258, under the Trần dynasty.
Royal decrees from successive dynasties show the important role the site played in the region.
Objects of worship
The site worships Quan Âm (Avalokiteśvara). The rear sanctuary holds the throne and tablet; the front hall holds the altar.
Locals come to offer incense on the 1st and 15th of each lunar month. Please keep quiet in the worship area.
Architecture
The building follows a traditional layout with a five-bay front hall and a three-bay rear sanctuary.
Carvings on the beams and brackets show the distinctive style of Vietnamese folk art.

Lễ rước kiệu, tế lễ và các trò chơi dân gian, thu hút đông đảo người dân trong vùng.

Ngai thờ chạm rồng, đặt bài vị thần trong hậu cung.

Kiệu sơn son thếp vàng, chạm rồng mây, dùng trong lễ rước.

Các đạo sắc phong của triều đình, giấy dó viết chữ Hán.

Quả chuông đúc bằng đồng, khắc bài minh về lịch sử ngôi di tích.
Visiting guide
Open daily from 7:00 to 17:00; on the 1st and 15th of the lunar month until 21:00.
Please dress modestly when entering the worship area. Parking is available in front of the gate.
